Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Salsa de Rosa
Written By: Salsa de Rosa Team ~ 3/16/2020

With the abundance of news on the topic, it is quite normal to be a little concerned. We want our customers to rest assured that we take this issue very seriously. Our current co-packer, Garden Fresh Foods, is GSFI, Global Food Safety Initiative, and SQF, Safe Quality Food, certified. Both certifications are of the highest standard and controls are in place for any event, including illnesses such as COVID-19.

Achieving SQF certification with an excellent rating provides validation of Garden Fresh Food’s commitment and responsibility to quality operations. It means increased protection of Salsa de Rosa’s improved operational efficiencies, managed risks, and peace of mind with certified due diligence. They are in compliance with applicable state and local sick leave laws, FDA/FSMA regulations in addition to CDC recommendations. Their established Crisis Management Plan provides a predictive and proactive approach for business continuity, to ensure measures are in place for prevention and recovery resulting from potential threats. In addition to prevention, their goal is to enable ongoing operations before and during the execution of the plan.

Leading up to the flu season they also provide retraining on cGMP policies reminding employees to stay home if flu-like symptoms are experienced within 24 hours of a workday. Additionally, quality assurance technicians monitor employees for any signs of illness on a daily basis. Documentation is reviewed and verified daily.

Should you need more information about GSFI or SQF certifications, please see the links below. Thank you to all who support us!
